Record Gazette - Local DeVry alumnus helps design Solar Energy Tracking System

Banning resident David Palmer was one of two recent DeVry University graduates to be honored with the People’s Choice Award at the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Global Humanitarian Technology Conference.

Palmer Janio Moreno of Moreno Valley received the award for their Solar Energy Tracking System, which is designed to collect, store and use clean renewable energy from the sun.

The Solar Energy Tracking System operates by orienting a group of solar cells or solar panels into an optimal location to collect energy from the sun, then stored in lithium ion batteries to be used at a later time.
