Janell Harvey, DBA, is a professor at DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management where she teaches courses in business and marketing, including marketing management and research. She is the program chair for the DeVry University Advantage Academy (DUAA), a magnet high school in partnership with Chicago Public Schools that awards associate degrees in Network Systems Administration or Web Graphic Design to graduating high school students.
Harvey joined DeVry in 2013 as an associate professor and in 2015, she became fully tenured. As the program chair for DUAA, she has worked with leadership executives from local Fortune 500 companies and non-profit organizations to share their expertise with students.
With a number of published articles, papers and Webinars on marketing and fund development, Harvey has been invited to speak at several notable institutions, including Harvard University, Yale University, Purdue University Calumet and Fordham University on fundraising strategies and grant writing.
Since 2016, Harvey has served on the national board of directors as the treasurer for the Grant Professionals Association. She has also received several distinguished awards, including the Youth Investment Award from Indiana Youth Institute, Successful Women in Business award from the National Coalition of Women in Ministry, and she was a finalist for the Up and Coming Women in Education award in 2013 from Northwest Indiana Influential Women.
Harvey earned a Doctor of Business Administration with a concentration in marketing from Argosy University in Chicago. She has a Master of Arts in English from Purdue University Northwest and a Master of Science in education from DeVry’s Keller Graduate School of Management.
