Robert Klapper is Empowered Education’s (EE) chief executive officer, dedicated to working with the EE team to improve lives by changing the approach to healthcare through a focus on wellness and sustainable habit change.
Throughout his career, Klapper has worked in businesses that have made a difference in people’s lives. Prior to EE, Klapper led his team through the transformation of Ashworth—an online family of colleges, a career school and high school educating 75,000 traditionally under-served students. As the president and CEO, Klapper put the focus on students and their outcomes, the launch of several new schools, and building a highly scalable platform, which led to significant growth of the institution.
Previous leadership roles, at several early and later stage consumer businesses, include: Charles Schwab, Colgate-Palmolive, 21st Century, and insurance.com.
Klapper has served as a board member and advisor on growth strategies and building teams to nonprofit and early-stage company CEOs in the education and financial services industries, including being an inaugural member of Junior Achievement’s Global Advisory Council.
He earned his MBA with a concentration in marketing from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, and a bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa.
