Robert Klapper was most recently the president and CEO of Ashworth College, an online family of schools including Ashworth College, Madison School of Healthcare, New York Institute of Art and Design, PCDI Canada, and James Madison High School. Since joining Ashworth in 2011, Rob and his team transformed the institution by focusing on students and their outcomes, launching several new schools and building a highly scalable technology platform which facilitates a superior student experience.
Previously, Klapper was the president and CEO at Insurance.com, where he led the turnaround and eventual sale of this industry-leading online insurance agency. He was also the president and CEO of One Day University, a lifelong learning venture he developed into a viable business.
With a background in marketing, Klapper held positions as the Chief Marketing Officer at Prosper Marketplace and the auto insurance company 21st Century. He also held several leadership positions during his 14-year tenure at Charles Schwab, and is responsible for the creation or turnaround of six service lines that helped fuel the company’s significant growth.
Since 2008, Klapper has served as a board member and advisor on growth strategies and building teams to several nonprofits and early-stage company CEOs in the education and financial services industries. He has been an inaugural member of Junior Achievement’s Global Advisory Council since 2016.
Klapper earned his MBA with a concentration in marketing from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia, and a bachelor’s degree from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa.
