Title: Group President, West Region, DeVry University

Ryan Sagers is the group president of DeVry University’s West region, providing strategic leadership and operational direction to all locations in California, Nevada and Arizona. He joined DeVry in 2014, as the Philadelphia-metro president and has served in various roles, including east innovation area president, which included oversight of the Philadelphia and Miami universities, and as the Mid-Atlantic group president before becoming the West region president. 

Prior to joining DeVry, Sagers co-founded the Utah Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities, where he served as the president and director of government affairs. He worked with elected officials on state and federal matters in proprietary education and co-authored the Utah State Proprietary Schools act, which was passed by the state legislature and signed into law by Governor Gary Herbert.

As the executive vice president of operations for AmeriTech College of Healthcare for seven years, Sagers was responsible for growing a small allied health school into one of the largest private nursing colleges in Utah. He also taught American National Government at the University of Phoenix for five years and previously served as a campus director at TechSkills and UCMT Family of Schools. At the Utah Career College, he was the associate dean of students and an admissions advisor. 

Sagers earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Utah, and he’s currently completing a Doctorate of Education in interdisciplinary leadership at Creighton University. He holds two bachelor’s degrees, one in business management from the University of Phoenix, the other in philosophy from the University of New Orleans.
