Donna Rekau, Ph.D., is the associate provost for DeVry University, overseeing academic quality for the university, including managing the curriculum, national colleges, assessment, and course quality initiatives leading to improved student retention and completion.
Dr. Rekau has held several positions throughout DeVry University, including interim vice president of Academic Affairs/Provost, assistant provost of student retention and completion, national dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences, and director of operations, Central Region. She also served as a regional manager and dean for multiple locations.
Prior to joining DeVry University, Dr. Rekau spent 10 years in criminal justice administration with the Cook County Circuit Courts. She was a probation officer supervisor and trainer for the Adult Intensive Probation Supervision armed services unit monitoring felony offenders. During that time, she also worked with the forensic unit responsible for monitoring mentally ill felony offenders and conducted pre-trial and pre-sentence investigations. She has also worked in non-profit and private practice mental health and substance abuse services.
Dr. Rekau received her Ph.D. from Colorado State University in Educational Leadership and Human Resource Studies. She also holds a master’s in Human Resource Management from Keller Graduate School of Management, a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Governors State University, a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Illinois Wesleyan University.
