Title: Associate Provost, Faculty and Academic Operations, DeVry University

Darryl Field, Ph.D., is the associate provost of DeVry University, responsible for providing senior leadership to the university’s national network of Faculty and Academic Deans of Excellence. 

A 22-year veteran of private-sector higher education, Field joined DeVry University in 2004 as the center dean for the Austin campus where he helped open the school, including hiring the faculty. In 2007, Field was appointed metro president of the five DeVry Pennsylvania campuses, where he successfully led an academic and operational turnaround of the network of campuses. In 2010, he became group vice president of the Northeast region of DeVry campuses and works directly with eight campus leadership teams to assess and improve processes and procedures to impact faculty and student outcomes. 

Previously, Field was the campus director at LeTourneau University Center in Austin, Texas, where he helped open the new center and lead the initiative to recruit and hire the faculty. He also served as a full-time faculty member, and later as the academic dean, at the Rio Grande Bible Institute in Edinburgh, Texas.

Field earned his Ph.D. in organizational leadership from Regent University in Virginia Bean, VA, and received his master’s degree in religion from Dallas Theological Seminary. Field is originally from Canada, where he met his wife of 25 years. Together, they are raising four boys.
