Title: Group President, Central Region, DeVry University

Amy King is the group president for DeVry University’s Central region, providing strategic leadership and operational direction to all locations in Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Texas. Her primary focus is student enrollment and persistence, academic quality, faculty excellence and a positive student experience. 
King has more than 20 years of academic leadership experience. She joined DeVry University in 2015 as the president of the university’s Addison metro, overseeing campus operations, faculty training and admissions management, along with strengthening ties with metropolitan business and industry leaders. Prior to joining DeVry, King served as president of Rasmussen College’s Illinois campuses, and vice president of operations at Sylvan Learning Centers.
Active in the community, King serves on the executive committee for the Junior Achievement DuPage Board of Directors, the executive committee for the DuPage Workforce Board, and as the chair of the Proprietary Advisory Committee for the Illinois Board of Higher Education.  She previously served as honorary chair for the Illinois Bolingbrook and Joliet March of Dimes Walk for Babies, and on the Board of Directors for several organizations, including the Will County Center for Economic Development, the Romeoville Economic Development Commission and the Bolingbrook Hospital Foundation. 
King earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Northern Illinois University and an MBA from Benedictine University. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in organizational change and leadership at the University of Southern California.
