Virginia Student Veterans Awarded Grant to Develop New Veterans Center at DeVry University

The Student Veterans of America at DeVry University’s Chesapeake, Virginia campus announced today it has been awarded a grant from the VetCenter Initiative to develop a new on-campus veteran’s resource center. The veteran’s center will provide DeVry University’s student veterans a place to network, study and support one another in their academic journey, and is currently slated to be complete by this Veterans Day, Nov. 11.  read more >

DeVry University Appoints Chayse Slovinski as Campus Director of Cleveland Metro

DeVry University has announced the appointment of Chayse Slovinski as campus director of its Cleveland metro campus in Seven Hills, Ohio. Slovinski has more than seven years of operational leadership experience in higher education, including serving as the interim campus director of DeVry University’s Indianapolis and Cleveland campuses since 2012. Prior to serving as the interim campus director, he served as the director of admissions at the Indianapolis campus. read more >

DeVry University Professor Selected to Join Prestigious Fulbright Commission Committee

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., October 12, 2015 - Abhay Ghiara, a professor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at DeVry University’s Fremont campus and a former Fulbright Scholar, was recently selected to join the Fulbright Commission’s Peer Review Committee in New Delhi, India, one of only 49 commissions worldwide.

DeVry University Professor Displays Compassionate Gesture

A single mom without a babysitter for the night, Amanda Osbon was understandably stressed when she had to take her toddler son to her college class.
Her regular babysitter had an infant of her own who was teething that night, so Osbon called her professor at DeVry University in Nashville, Tennessee, and asked if it was acceptable to bring her son, Xzavier, who turns 2 years old in November. Xzavier sat next to her during the class, which went from 6 to 9 p.m., and during a break in class at 7:30 p.m., Professor Joel Bunkowske left Osbon in tears with a simple act of empathy. read more >

DeVry University Hosts First Veterans-Only Virtual Career Fair

DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., September 16, 2015 - DeVry University’s Career Services department will hold its first virtual career fair for veterans today, Sept. 16, from noon to 3 p.m. CDT. The event will offer students and alumni with military backgrounds a convenient opportunity to connect with employers via computer, smartphone or tablet no matter what their location.
